Rabeprazole is a medication used for the treatment of the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults and children over the age of one year.

Rabeprazole is only prescribed to adults to treat conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, which is caused by too much stomach acid. Rabeprazole is also used to treat duodenal ulcers and erosive esophagitis in adults.

Rabeprazole may be combined with an antibiotic to prevent duodenal ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection (H. pylori).

Rabeprazole is not used t for instant relief from heartburn symptoms.

Warnings
